
Mark joined Martin, Goodrich & Waddell, Inc. in July 2007 as head of our appraisal services. Mark's arrival was the first major staff change on our appraisal team for a couple of decades. Mark is an Accredited Member of the American Society of Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers, holding the Accredited Rural Appraiser (ARA) designation and serving as Chairman of the Society's Appraisal Review Committee. He's also a member of the Illinois Society of Professional Farm Managers and Rural Appraisers. Before joining MGW, Mark had been Director of Appraisal Services for 1st Farm Credit Services since 1999. This Association serves 42 counties in the northern half of Illinois and holds over $1 billion in assets. In this position, Mark supervised a staff of 10 appraisers and personally completed more than 100 rural appraisals a year. Mark's appraisal credentials have built up steadily since 1985, when he served as a regional appraiser for Doane Farm Management Company. In 1987 he moved to southern Ohio with Farm Credit Services, where he developed an appraisal staff for 32 counties. He then came to Illinois in 1989 as Senior Appraiser for Farm Credit Services of Northern Illinois. Through almost 25 years in active appraisal work, he has gained experience in virtually every kind of real estate including farmland, agribusiness enterprises and commercial property. Mark is Board Member and Past President of the Illinois Coalition of Appraisal Professionals, having served as President in 2006-07. Mark holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree from Kent State University and an Associates Degree in Agriculture from Kishwaukee College. Mark and his wife Doreen have two daughters and a son, all in college or new graduates from college. |
